The Studio Inn

The Studio Inn

The Studio Inn at St. Albans is located in the spectacular historic home of Oscar and Irene Johnson. Oscar Johnson was the very wealthy head of the International Shoe Company. The home was built around 1917 and designed by Theodore Link, a German born architect who had a prominent practice in St. Louis and owned a country retreat in St Albans, as well. Link was also the architect who designed the St. Louis Union Station and worked on the design of St. Louis City Hall. The Johnsons had more than a country retreat in mind and by the early 20th century owned over 1,500 acres. After Oscar died, Irene Johnson further developed their property into the very prosperous "St. Albans Farm" which eventually grew to more than 7,000 acres.

Today, the Studio Inn can be booked for special events such as wedding ceremonies, corporate retreats and dinner parties. It is private property, so contact the Studio Inn for more information.
