At this art museum, visitors can learn about contemporary art and its place in the continuum of artistic development. The Contemporary Art Museum does not have a permanent art collection, but presents a yearly schedule of 6 to 10 exhibitions and various programs throughout the year which incorporates a broad range of media, topics, and artists. The goal of the museum is to engage people of all ages in the appreciation and interpretation of contemporary art and ideas. The 27,000 square foot museum has space for paintings, installations, and sculpture along with video art, photography, and performance art.
There is an admission fee, but students and children are free everyday and seniors get a discount. Admission is free to all on Wednesdays and Saturdays. A cafe and a gift shop are located within the museum.
