There are many golf courses in St. Charles County. Some are public with many being owned by the municipalities in which they are found such as the St. Peters Golf Course. Anyone can play at public courses with tee times on a "first come, first served" basis. Other golf courses are semi-private and might have a yearly membership fee with added benefits such as the Lake Forest County Club in Lake Saint Louis. Semi-private courses may allow their members to get first choice of tee times and then if there are any left for a particular day, the non-members can then play. Some semi-private clubs may also have different levels of memberships available. There are also private golf courses, such as the Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters, that a yearly membership fee is charged on top of the initial fee that was paid to first become a member. Private courses are the most exclusive and can only be used by members and their guests. St. Charles County golf courses also vary in size as well as design such as the 9-hole course that is found at the private Heritage of Hawk Ridge or the two 18-hole courses at the semi-private Whitmoor County Club in Weldon Spring. All in all, St. Charles County has a golf course for everyone!
