The Princeton Heights Neighborhood is located in the southwest part of the City of St Louis. The boundaries of the neighborhood are Gravois Ave on the southeast, Christy Blvd on the east, Eichelberger on the north and Hampton Avenue on the west. Surrounding neighborhoods are Southampton to the north; to the east are the neighborhoods of Bevo Mill and Boulevard Heights; the St. Louis Hills Neighborhood is to the west.
Several St. Louis City parks provide the residents of Princeton Heights, and the residents of the other surrounding neighborhoods, ample recreation choices. Christy Park, a 16+ acre park, is found in the neighborhood and features lots of green space and a playground. It also gives access to the Christy Greenway, a pedestrian and biking trail that connects the River des Peres Greenway trail to Carondelet Park. The City's Willmore Park is located outside the neighborhood at Hampton Avenue and Jamieson. It features 105 acres of parkland with many athletic fields for baseball, softball and soccer. It also has picnic shelters, fishing lakes, tennis courts and a dog park. Another large park that is closeby in the St. Louis Hills Neighborhood is the 60 acre Francis Park at Donovan and Eichelberger. This park provides handball and racquetball courts, a playground, a soccer field, softball fields and tennis courts.
The St. Louis Public School District is the local district for the neighborhood. No district schools are located in Princeton Heights but there are several schools of the district in the surrounding neighborhoods. Buder Elementary School is located in the Southampton Neighborhood on Lansdown Avenue. Busch Middle School of Character is a Magnet School that serves students in grades 6th through 8th and is located in the St. Louis Hills Neighborhood on Clifton Avenue. Long Middle School and Woerner Elementary School are both located in the Bevo Mill Neighborhood.
Private schools dot South St. Louis City. Several are found conveniently located for the Princeton Heights residents. Two are in the neighborhood, Hope Lutheran School is located on Brannon Avenue and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School is on South Kingshighway. Three private schools are located in the St. Louis Hills Neighborhood, St. Gabriel the Archangel School is on Tamm Avenue; St. Raphael the Archangel School is on Jamieson Avenue, two Catholic elementary and middle schools, and the main campus of the Word of Life Lutheran School for grades 4th through 8th is found on Eichelberger Street. The Word of Life Lutheran School Early Childhood campus for grades Preschool-3 through Kindergarten is located in the Boulevard Heights Neighborhood. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School located in the Boulevard Heights Neighborhood on Blow Street. St. John the Baptist Elementary School, a Catholic elementary and middle school, is located in the Bevo Mill Neighborhood on Delor Street.
St. Louis City residents have ready access to public libraries. The St. Louis Public Library system has 15 branch libraries located throughout the city. The Buder Library Branch would be the closest of the branches to the residents in the Princeton Heights Neighborhood. The library is located on Hampton Avenue in the St. Louis Hills Neighborhood.
