The Railroad Employee's Memorial is located in De Soto Missouri. Three major railroads have come through the town of De Soto, first the St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern, then the Missouri Pacific, and now the Union Pacific. The railroad has played a major role in the town's history and still does so today with the Union Pacific's freight car shop being the biggest employer in the city. With this in mind, the memorial is dedicated to the all people of the city of De Soto who have been, who are now, and who will be railroad employees.
The Railroad Employee's Memorial is easily accessible and is located near the intersection of Main Street and Fountain City Road, east of the railroad tracks. There is ample parking and the park can be visited year-round.
