Amenities: 6,896 acre park located along the Meramec River; three group tent camping areas with a total of 210 campsites, 20 rental cabins, 22 motel rooms, conference center; dining lodge, visitor center with educational exhibits and large aquariums featuring aquatic life found in the Meramec River; four picnic shelters with picnic tables and electric, one has a fireplace; playgrounds; Shower houses; laundry facilities; boat launch; park store; seasonal cave tours in Fisher Cave-admission is charged; canoeing, rafting, fishing, swimming in Meramec River.
Meramec State Park features six hiking trails. Two of the trails are under one mile long-River Trail and Walking Fern Trail. The Wilderness Trail is 10 miles long and divided into two loops. It is considered to be of "moderate" difficulty. The Natural Wonders Trail is 1.3 miles in length; the Bluff View Trail is 1.5 miles and moderate in difficulty; and the Deer Hollow Trail is 1.8 miles long.
