The Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center is located in St Louis Missouri in the Ville Neighborhood. Originally named the St Louis Colored Orphans Home, it was founded in 1888 by Sarah Cochran and other concerned women of the community to help care for orphaned and neglected children. In 1922, Annie Turnbo Pope Malone donated funds to build a new children's home which function as the administrative offices today. The name was changed to honor Annie Malone for her generous gift. Today the Center provides social services, educational programs and advocacy, not only to children, but to the elderly as well as to the entire community. The administration office building has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
