The Old Six Mile Museum is located in Granite City, Illinois in the historic Emmert-Zippel House that was built about 1830. The area where the Museum is located used to be known as Six Mile Prairie, named that because it was six miles from St. Louis. The Museum houses Civil War artifacts, 1830s furnishings, and a Native American collection and is run by the Old Six Mile Historical Society. The Emmert-Zippel house has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
