The Historic Holy Family Log Church is located in Cahokia Illinois. It is significant in that it was completed in 1799 and was built in the vertical log, poteaux-sur-sol (post-on-sill), a French Creole style of architecture. The parish is the second oldest Catholic parish in the state of Illinois and dates back to 1699. The original church on the site and it's successor were both destroyed by fire.
Latin Mass is held each Sunday at 9am. Tours are available on Sundays, Memorial Day weekend thru Labor Day weekend. Call for more information and to arrange a tour. There is no charge to visit the Log Church.
