The Village of Evansville, Illinois is located in Randolph County along the east side of the Kaskaskia River. The village was established in 1834 when Cadwell Evans laid out streets and lots. Agriculture has been and still is an important economic factor in Evansville, especially with the Evansville Grain Terminal facility located in the town. The Kaskaskia River offers transhipment for the grain brought to the Terminal, as well as recreational boating opportunities at the marina. The Evansville Marina can accommodate boats of all sizes and is the location for many events such as the Kaskaskia River Festivals, USA Bassin Tournaments, Evansville Days Activities, BluesFest and more.
