The City of Kirkwood Missouri has been putting on the Greentree Festival since 1961 and began as a way to replace trees that had died in Kirkwood because of a drought. Throughout the years the Festival has grown and changed but it continues to focus on its mission to promote community spirit and to bring Kirkwood residents and others together. The Festival features live entertainment, contests, a parade, a dog show and Frisbee dog competition, the Folklife Festival with 17th and 18th century reenactors, arts and crafts and food, Civil War reenactment, a book fair, a classic car and truck show and much more! The Greentree Festival happens in September and all events are free.
